I started writing music in the mid 1990's (Drum&Bass,Hip
Hop) releasing vinyl on many small Independent record labels
around the world. I made a name for myself as a scratch DJ
performing tricks after entering the Technics World DJ
Championships multiple times In 2005 i recorded one of my DJ
routines dressed as Darth Vader remixing of
the Star Wars Empiral March Music. The video went viral(pre
youtube) in the day when peopel used to send jokes via
mobile phone or email. This video that was intended as a
joke opened so many doors for me,
I remixed War of the Worlds for Jeff Wayne which got released on a album
via Sony/BMG
I performed live on mainstream TV in Belgium
An interview on Star wars.com official site, I even had a
chriostmas card of George Lucas
My music got used in multple MTV shows
which went viral (video
below). I've also competed in many Technics World DMC DJ
Championship competitions around the UK.
I've always loved the powerful sound of cinema and since
2015 have taught myself to write for TV and Film.

Music career
1992-2008 before I returned to music in 2015
Lloyd Morgan (aka DJ Keltech)
I started writing music in 1992 on my Amiga A500 computer and
learning to mix records at the same time on my rubbish
second hand hifi turntables.
Being a massive fan of the Rave scene and going to them
often I used to be dancing away all night to music as the DJ
would make the whole crowd go wild by dropping great tunes.
This inspired me and all I wanted more than anything in the
world was to be a famous DJ and music producer.
19 years old learning to DJ in my bedroom
At this time I was making drum&bass, but back then in 1992 there wasn't any
internet and no places to learn how to make this type of
music so I had to teach myself just be experimenting.
I got a bank loan and bought some hardware, ESI 32
sampler, mixer, proper turntables and cubase 2.8 midi sequencer. I used to spend
about 5 hours a day in the studio practicing and sending out
my music on cassette tapes to labels on a weekly basis. I
used to practice so much with headphones on I eventually
ended up with Tinnitus which is a type of ear damage that I
still have 25 years on.
Music took much longer to make back then and programning synths/samplers
took hours, after 6 years of experimenting and my
demo's getting ignored or rejected by all the UK drum&bass labels,
finally in 1997 I had a few
tracks released on a Dutch record label in Amsterdam shortly
following that I had another release on a label in the San
Diego USA.
In 1997 there were hardly any drum&bass music websites and as I had a
background in IT I made myself a website to put up as a free
download. At this time the famous music group The
Prodigy were getting a huge name for themselves releasing
their third album "Fat Of The Land" and launched their
official website. Back then it was normal practice to link
other websites to yours to help get traffic. For some reason
they linked my website on their recommended artist links, I started seeing
huge amounts of site traffic and getting new fans. (i'm very
grateful to them)
The Drum&Bass scene at the time was quite tough to break into and you
had to know the right people, finding a local DJ spot was
proving really tough. Jungle music was starting to take over
the club rave scene and attracting badboys to the nights
that would cause trouble, nights would often end in mass
fighting on the dance floor which completely spoilt things.
I didn't want to be apart of that scene and was looking for
other avenues for my music.
I had a local friend that was a rapper(Johnny B) knowing I was a producer
he asked me to write some Hip Hop instrumentals for him.
We were both heavily influenced by Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh
Prince (He's the DJ i'm the Rapper album) so we formed a DJ
and rapper partnership. Before we knew it we were
performing live around the UK and releasing music together and
slowly getting recognition. The Hip Hop Genre is unlike
any other music in the way it is quite
competitive you need to show you have skills on stage so I
started learning tricks and became more of a turntablist
then regular Hip Hop DJ.
I used to practice for hours a day on the decks learning to scratch and beat
juggle and when I felt I was good enough I started to enter DJ competitions battling other DJ's.
My first competition attempt was at the world famous Technics World
DMC DJ championships 2003 in the Cardiff heats. Each year
they held a few regional heats around the UK and if the
judges placed you 1st or 2nd you go to the UK final to
battle in London. In the Cardiff heat I didn't even make it past the
first round, I was really gutted and there was only one
regional final left that year but it was all the way in
Glasgow! So the followng week desperate to prove
myself as a DJ I drove 8 hours to
Scotland with 20 minutes to spare I got straight on stage
with my records to perform. I got through to the final in
the night and was so chuffed! It was an amazing night
probably the best crowd I'd ever experienced out of the
hundreds of gigs I have done in my music career, over a 1000
people going nuts to my tricks. I didn't get 1st or
2nd but didn't care it was the experience of a life time and
left me releasing this is what I wanted to do.
Following years I kept practicing and entering till in 2005
I finally got 2nd place in the Cardiff final but by that
time they had changed the rules and it was only the 1st
place winners that went through to the UK Final.
However I did win the Welsh Higher Learning DJ championships
which was held localy here in Wales.
Here's a list of DJ battles I took part in and the results
- 2003 Cardiff failed
- 2003
Glasgow regional finalist
- 2004
Manchester regional finalist
- 2004
Cardiff regional final 3rd place

Some more photos of me competing
In 2002 myself and Johnny we were nominated for best Hip Hop act in Wales, best
producer and DJ and we won all 3 titles that night.
My music career was about to sky
rocket...
In 2005 while performing at the Bath final of the World DJ
championships I did a
live remix of the Imperial March Music. The crowd went mental so I
decided to started videoing my DJ routines at home to put on the
internet. The first one was my live remix of the Imperial March but
this time dressed as Darth Vader. The video was an instant hit and
went viral getting millions of hits on stupidvideos.com (pre-youtube)
it was then sent around the world via email which is how things went
viral back then.

This viral video lead
to a live performance at a celebrity party in Trafalgar Square
London,
pictured above where i met the late Sir Bobby Robson.
I was asked to travel to Brussels with my turntables
and gear to perform on a mainstream TV dressed as Darth
Vader

I was
also asked to remix the War of the
Worlds music for Jeff Wayne which got released on Sony
records. It didn;t stop there that same year I received a christmas card from George Lucas and
an interview on
the starwars.com website! my video was played at Comic con in LA
live and my story was featured on the front page of
yahoo.com which was the most popular search engine at the
time.
It was a whirlwind year I'll
never forget!
The War of the Worlds remix
off the back of that I released a solo turntablist album, all the tracks were
made by scratching and using tricks, along with some studio
sequencing

At this time
I was getting lots of calls to DJ in places around the world and to
support famous rappers that were on tour.
I've supported Ice T, Grand Master Flash and many other famous
names in the Hip Hop world with Johnny B.
In 2007 one of the top music publishers Pump Audio/Getty Images
contacted me asking if I wanted to put my music in their library for
licensing purposes. This lead to my music being used on many big MTV
shows and featured in some independent films.
Some of the shows my music was used on
When I wasn't doing gigs or working in a studio I also used to
travel around the UK to visit youth clubs teaching young people how
to perform tricks and skills on the turntables.
2007 onwards.... why did I
stop???
So it was all going so well and I had effectively reached my
ambition of being a famous DJ but it all got a little intense and
the money income was unreliable. I had no manager or record
label to help me and
I felt I needed a rest fromt he industry. When I was not doing
music I was messing around with old arcade machines.
I grew up in the 1980's and loved playing arcade machines down at
Barry Island here in Wales, Infact my dad had bought an old Space
Invaders Machine for our house from a pub in 1984 when they weren't popular
anymore which I loved and really missed. Being a creative person and the type of
guy that took things apart to see how they worked, I
taught myself how to make a retro arcade cabinet just for fun. The first one I made I
sold on Ebay, I then made another and sold it before I knew it I had created
a business making custom arcade machines for customers that I still
do this very today www.ultimatearcadecabinets.co.uk
It has
been a long and very hard journey but music has always been in my
blood and in 2015 I rebuilt the studio, I've been working hard
learning how to write music, I work in my studio at least 4-5 hours
every day and with all the great internet resources that are
available these days it much easier to learn. I'm now using my
background as a hip hop prodcuer to combine with cinematic sounds
